Trans,

Gender Non-Conforming, and Queer Affirming Therapy

Finding the right therapist for anybody is intimidating.

But finding a therapist that is not just accepting, but understands the importance of gender-affirming care adds a whole other later to the process.

Whether you are experiencing invalidation and isolation as a result of authentically expressing your gender identity or you are ready to begin gender-affirming medical care, you need a therapist that is not just an ally but has worked with clients that have been where you are right now.

Transphobia, both from the outside world and even from your own inner thoughts, can take its toll.  Stress about what to share and with who is always there. Existing in a world that wants everybody to fit into a neat little binary box is frustrating.

As a cis-gender, white female, I believe it is my responsibility to seek out my own education and consultation rather than expecting you to use your energy or therapy time having to “teach” me. In the last three years, I have worked with clients all along the gender spectrum and in different phases of their own story.  Clients who have been kicked out of their homes or endured difficult family situations, as well as clients in supportive environments exploring gender fluidity.

I aim to create an environment where you feel safe to express and explore your true self.  While working together, I hope to help you build self-compassion and develop a deeper understanding of your own gender expression and identity.
